»FCSP Handspiel« is a bespoke script typeface based on the handwriting of Jan Kamensky, former head of graphic design of the german football club FC St. Pauli. The typeface was part of the club’s 2019/20/21 Bundesliga season campaigns, and is now finally available to the public.
It comes in two cuts – regular and a textured version – and employs all OpenType features necessary for a good performance of script typefaces, such as cycling contextual alternates to prevent the occurance of the exact same lettershapes next to each other. Therefore each letter was drawn in three different versions, which preserves a very lively appearance of FCSP Handspiel. Furthermore there’s ligatures, keyboard shortcuts for arrows and more.
